Marcus Gunn Head of Mortgage & Insurance

Marcus oversees the regulated side of our business which covers mortgage and insurance advice. He is often the first contact point for private client enquiries and he also manages all our introducer relationships ensuring Carbon continues to grow at consistent, yet manageable pace.

Marcus is well known for his diligent and customer focused approach.

Marcus is a co-founder of Carbon having spent a few years based in London learning his trade beforehand. Prior to that he spent many years in and around the fitness and film industries, both of which remain a passion outside of work.

Dominic Sharp Senior Mortgage & Insurance Adviser

Dominic is our Senior Mortgage and Insurance Adviser. He is particularly adept at swiftly establishing a client’s needs and highlighting the nub of the case before establishing the solution.

Extremely methodical and diligent, Dominic enjoys the challenge of the more complex client requirement but also prides himself in often bringing a simple solution.

Prior to becoming a qualified Adviser, Dominic spent a number of years across the real estate industry. This included advising family offices on their property acquisitions as well as running his own business that acted as an asset manager for an organisation with a large regional portfolio from which his brief was to assess alternative uses to harness income.

Karen Foster Senior Case Manager

Karen is our senior case manager. She ensures clients mortgage and insurance requirements are well packaged and smoothly managed once the formal advice process has occurred.

Her role sees Karen liaising with clients, estate agents, solicitors, lenders and valuers to ensure all parties are abreast of progress and expectations duly managed.

Karen joined Carbon having spent a number of years at a well-respected competitor in the mortgage world and her move has enabled her to broaden her involvement in the process.

Her efficiency and attention to detail is valued by the Company and our clients alike.

Property Development & Investment Lending Team

Tom Reynolds Head of Development Finance

Tom runs the development finance and associated advisory services of Carbon.

He has spent 15 years as a prominent adviser to property developers, not only raising debt for their projects but on many occasions being involved from site identification through to sale. With a much deeper knowledge of the entire development process than most of his peers, Carbon’s clients regularly benefit from his expertise and well-respected position with a wide range of Lenders.

Tom has also led Carbon’s activity in the direct lending arena since we launched our own mezzanine lending proposition in 2008 having identified the opportunity in the market. This has also led to our involvement in Deveq, which deploys private wealth into joint venture residential developments.

Extremely well networked with entrepreneurs and high-income clients, Tom also conducts a number of transactional deals each year which provide our H/UHNW clients with representation and a safe hand in their exposure to the real estate world.

Stuart Bradney Head of Investment Lending

Stuart heads up our investment lending team whilst also bringing his expertise to the development funding side. Stuart has structured some of the biggest private property portfolio facilities in the country over recent years and has also advised on a number of signature housing projects across London and the South East.

Having been one of the country’s highest volume mortgage brokers in the early years of his career, he retains a vast array of clients across the country and ensures they continue to be well handled by the private client side of Carbon.

That breadth of relationships was further expanded when he spent 7 years successfully growing an IFA practice before selling his 50% stake in early 2016 to enable him to re-join forces with Tom Reynolds from early in his career and again put his sole focus on the real estate space. In particular, with a drive towards raising and deploying equity.

Stuart is very active in the community and charity arena, being a trustee of a number of organisations that benefit from his significant network and relentless energy.

Stephanie Mooney Relationship Manager

Stephanie is our Relationship Manager in the property development and investment lending team. Stephanie is committed to delivering a positive client experience and ensures that the formal process is completed in a timely manner, liaising with clients and professionals to ensure the process runs smoothly.

Prior to joining Carbon, Stephanie has spent over 10 years’ working in the Real Estate finance sector, allowing her to understand client’s requirements and assist in structuring the right deal from the outset. She has extensive experience on the bank side, for both a clearing bank and a challenger bank.

Stephanie’s attention to detail and solution minded approach makes her a vital asset of the Carbon team.

Pavan Deved Relationship Manager

Pavan is our Relationship Manager in the property development and investment lending team. He ensures clients requirements are well understood and meticulously presented to lenders to ensure the right solution is achieved. Once the formal process commences, Pavan ensures the smooth and timely progress of the deal to a successful completion.

Pavan liaises with clients, lenders, lawyers, agents and valuers to ensure all parties are well informed of progress and expectations duly managed.

Prior to joining Carbon, Pavan spent several years at a well-respected lender in the banking world and his move has enabled him to bring his knowledge, network and experience to impact the deal completion process.

Pavan’s tenacity and diligence is valued by Carbon and our clients.

Paul Lyons Development Finance & Investment Lending

Paul brings a wealth of experience with over 20 years in Banking, holding roles in Commercial, Corporate and Real Estate Banking divisions having worked in the City and the West End for majority of his career.

Paul joins us from Cynergy Bank where he spent 3 years as a Senior Relationship Director focusing on Property Investment and Development funding. He was instrumental in building the Banks South East focused Real Estate offering from scratch opening offices in Brighton and Redhill and originating in excess of £200m of loan facilities.

Prior to working at Cynergy Bank Paul worked at Santander, RBS and Lloyds Bank. The last 10 years have been focused on Real Estate sectors specialising in Residential, Commercial, student and Development. Experience also includes Asset Finance, Debt Restructuring and Credit. Paul is well connected in the industry and brings a real relationship focus to the business.

Outside of work Paul is married with two young daughters, and enjoys football, tennis, golf (badly) and is a keen skier.

Rudi Winslow Director of Carbon Cambridge

Rudi runs the office in Cambridge for Carbon Cambridge Ltd, along with Stuart McKenzie-McIntyre

Rudi brings with him vast experience in all sectors of commercial finance.

He joined us from Lloyds Bank Commercial Team in Central London where he spent 6 years managing external Broker relationships. He has strong experience dealing with all types of operating and investment companies and finding solutions to their funding needs.

Prior to working at Lloyds Rudi had many years working in the international banking market in London, where he made lots of contacts. This gives Rudi knowledge of a significantly wider funding market than the majority in the commercial broking field.

Outside work Rudi is a keen sportsman, enjoying his time playing golf and tennis.

Stuart McKenzie-McIntyre Director of Carbon Cambridge

Stuart runs the office in Cambridge for Carbon Cambridge Ltd, along with Rudi Winslow.

He is a very experienced international banker having worked in the City and overseas for the last 35 years.

Stuart led the property finance team, and sat on the credit committees, of a number of Middle Eastern banks. He has provided finance for assets from a single residential unit to a group of 127 European hotels, and even the purchase of an island. Stuart arranged finance for transactions that ranged from a few hundred thousand to a few hundred millions.

He is very well connected, and knows a significant number of people who sit at board level of funders.

Outside work Stuart is a keen photographer, having had images used by the National Trust and Ordnance Survey amongst others.
